The Port of Sitges celebrates a summer plus the “Midnight Concert Festival” that will be held from the 12th of July to the 14th of August at the Port Auditorium, next to the Capitanía Tower.
In this edition of 2019 the Concerts offer a wide variety of musical styles, from classic to modern, with some tributes to The Beatles, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson as well as the best pop of the 70’s and 80’s, here. Also added to this edition is a special tribute to the best female voices of all time and, of course, we can not miss some incunables of our programming such as the Feast of the Virgin of Carmen, “the Great Lyric Night”, Sitges Big Band or the projection of fantastic shorts outdoors in collaboration with the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.
All this in the incomparable setting of the Port of Sitges and completely free of charge. Because that’s how the Port of Sitges and its Foundation understand how culture should work. “Culture is everyone’s heritage and brings it closer to the people, owners and not owners of the Port, it is a pride and a duty that we have been assume for many years,” explains Sònia Felip, Director of the Foundation.
And beyond the Midnight Concerts, the Port and its Foundation have also celebrated the I Urban Art Exhibition this year, becoming the first port in Catalonia that has opened its facilities at this type of art with six magnificent works that can be visited by anyone who comes up and the opening of the new “Port Library” which collects hundreds of books that people bring from their homes to give them a second home.
